This watch is a great buy for the money. I bought the watch for ~ $ 400 USD because of a math / error to a local jeweler discount. The gauges are mostly easy to read, do not need a battery, dual time, without pressing any key, and atomic synchronization is why I bought the watch. It offers all of these promises. The clock seems to be of quality construction and come with a warranty of 5 years manufacturer. One thing I did not realize (or check before buying) is that there is no way to know the date by looking at the dial. A clock that has so many dials isn 't there a box on how my $ 18 Casio? R rOverall, a big clock, I would recommend to friends or anyone who asked. If you ever need to know the date immediately, do not buy this watch.
I had the A Citizen Skyhawk Atomic watch for a year now and have never been satisfied with a watch. My previous watch was an Omega Speedmaster that was heavy and clumsy and has lost one minute every day. I started getting really interested in buying a watch with extreme precision. Living in Australia I thought that a radio controlled atomic watch was out of question because we don 't have atomic time signals broadcast here. When I tried to search precision in the watch I found the term used for a watch is an accurate time and watches most accurate in the world have been made by Breitling, especially their models SuperQuartz. However, these costs A $ 5000.00 or more is a bit of a stretch for the portfolio. And then, to my surprise, I discovered a website where people in Australia had announced that their atomic watches / clocks picked up a time signal from abroad. A pilot here in Brisbane posted a review of things on his Citizen Skyhawk AT and said his shows regularly captured the Japanese time signal during the night. When I read his post, I bought one too and I don 't looked back. R r rPros: r rWhat I like most about this show is that it 'set and forget - to be radio controlled, I never adjust the time always just! And it is an atomic precision - more precise than the Breitling watches Loose SuperQuartz remaining 15 seconds per year - a fraction of the price. RI R have received many compliments on my watch their family and co-workers. The watch has a very attractive, large dial - so even more impressive in photos and images online. The stainless steel bracelet is very solid and some say heavy, but even if I have a small wrist watch that I find very comfortable to wear and not feel bothered by it in any way. R rthe mineral glass is very strong and completely resistant to scratches - mind you, I work in an office so it 's not in the sense of injury very often but I don ' t been a single scratch on it for over a year. R ri love the build quality of the shows - he is pure class! R rthe solar works without batteries require full sun. The ambient light is sufficient to keep it running at full capacity. RI R love the beautiful presentation box it came in - it doubles as a comfortable position for my watch at bedtime. R r rcon: r rthe Hardest helped create the watch has been adjusted to fit the bracelet on my wrist. The links are difficult to remove and it took a good hour or so for me to do things properly. R rjust as another reviewer said here, I wish they had used time zones rather than places like my town is too small to rate a mention. The drivers may prefer areas too long. R RSOM people are concerned about wear the crown and repeated setting certain functions, and although 's possible, I almost never use mine it at all so I'm not the least concern about this. R r List rWish: r ri wish that the LCD screen to be bigger. Not only just to make it more readable, but it can display the date and time together - it seems a real shame to waste precision atomic fabulous on the analog only, just so I can see the day. If you like Citizen - make a dual analog / digital time display of additional space for the date also, next time!..
Arrive on time. The setup instructions are easy to follow. Bill does not take long. Have you watch area near the east facing windows of my APT to receive the signal. I live in San Fran in the middle of large buildings. Watch wears nice, doesn 't not to heavy or too big on my small wrist. I really prefer to be pull the crown to change the function of this watch. Myself another Citizen chrono Which only requires rotating the crown to change from time to chrono alarm, and sometimes when moving my wrist watch, the crown rotates.
I have this watch, and liked it enough to give one to my girlfriend (who was suffering with a persnickety TISSOT with the old DST rule). However, being steel it is rather heavy (there is a titanium version which is quite a bit lighter) and more importantly is the old U600 caliber from a few years ago. R rin the U600 caliber, the calendar is the same as the digital time display. Since you usually have the digital time display show some other city than the local city, this means that in calendar so it will show the other city 's date instead of the local date. For example, I have my "other city " set to Tokyo, and the date display generally shows tomorrow 's date Because Tokyo is 16-17 hours ahead of Seattle time. This isn 'ta problem with the U680 caliber. R rthe caliber U680 supports China as a fourth radio time signal, and has an important design fixed: you can set the city for the calendar separately from the city for the digital time display. R rCurrently, the caliber U680 is only available in the Japan-only line attesa Which has no equivalent here. The attesa has a much less cluttered face even though it has the same information, and an ordinary bezel and not the aviation slide rule bezel. R rthe caliber U680 has been out for quite a while in Japan, but for some reason Citizen hasn 't made it available here. R rthe manual for the U680 attesa documents the aviation slide rule bezel as "on some models " but not currently U680 model has a caliber. If it shows up on a Japanese model, it would be on the Promaster Sky-Navihawk Which is the Japanese equivalent of the U.S. Skyhawk. R rMost American consumers probably don 't care about having 4 band (including China) instead of the 3 band (Japan, Europe, USA) that is here. But then again, most American consumers probably don 't need the aviation slide rule and would prefer a few more model choices, especially in titanium.
This watch is attractive, but a warning. The crystal is domed and smooth, and therefore subject to scratches. His face soon became obscured in normal wear. Addition, the bezel 's paint wears away. In lieu of the two components will cost more than $ 130. This then becomes a clock disposable at a high price. R rI discovered the hard way. I would not buy this watch again.
I 've owned this watch for over a year. It 's My Citizen Watch second (along with a dress watch), and overall I am very happy with the brand and quality. The watch looks excellent and I received many compliments while wearing it. R GH has a pair of complaints that are not necessarily dis-pleased me much, but I have presented here if anyone in the public view these revisions. R rIssues: r-The instructions are very limited. For a watch of this complex, would have been good if people spent a little more time to make the instructions more readable and easy to use. As another poster mentioned, the instructions read like the old VCR. R r-DST has a delay function that actually gives a full day of time before she got wrong itself. Even trying to do a manual reset does nothing. R r "The controls could have been more useful. I think many of the functions of the clocks are unnecessarily complex. R r "My watch seems to lack a few city name listed in the instructions. I read on some websites that there is a known software flaw and can be mailed on the clock to get the updated software. The quality was missing cities Don 't directly affect me negatively, I ' t bother. R rOverall, the watch is excellent, with looks to match.
Citizen Watch already had one and was quite familiar with their operation. But AT Skyhawk far exceeds the citizen that I have. For the price, you get an incredible number of features. And the manual is very concise and precise as far as how to define and exploit it. I like it a gauge on the face to tell you exactly what the state of charge. My other citizen doesn 't have that. And you can leave it in the box for a long time without the drums on "timing, because a feature automatic power saver. The backlit LCD screen is an invaluable asset to consider total darkness. I 'm happy to have spent money on this watch. It was worth every penny. And Amazon shipping was very fast. They beat the estimated delivery date for DAYS!
I love my new watch with a couple of provisions. First time I wish they had used areas rather than cities. I must use my time to the city center of Chicago, but I 'm at the opposite end of the country. Secondly, I wish the stopwatch function used needles analog instead of or in addition to the digital display. It would be much easier to read. Otherwise, I think it 's wonderful.
This is a review redundant. From the moment I received the watch I have been in love. Yes, it is very heavy. Yes, the book reads like a Russian novel, but with a glass of wine and a rest room, the complexity of this device will become apparent to the owner. You just read the instructions and deal with the various features. This watch does not require attention, but can support that toys often. Working good citizen to make a full, fun and affordable to see the rest of us. It is interesting to manually set the clock and see that responds to the signal of Denver (I think).
I owned one of these watches for a couple of weeks now. I only had a problem with it: I bought the day before the changeover to summer time, and selects the synchronization night instead of CAL RX-S. It does not synchronize automatically. I could resolve it quickly, and the watch has not been successfully synchronized. RI think it's a beautiful watch. It appears so in the dark, remains responsible even if I wear long sleeved shirts and sweaters (Upstate NY is quite cold this time of year), and it has a lot of visual interest. It shows the day and date in CAL mode, which was a requirement of mine. RI find different modes of operation (timers, for example) are difficult to use, but it will probably improve with practice. The slide rule is a fun addition, but it is too small to be of real practical use, and the scales are small enough to be difficult to read (I am 67 years old). R The bracelet has a catch excellent. The normal adjustment strap (in moving a pin up or down a row of holes) is not possible with this design, however, and I intend to invest in a gadget to help make a bit more long. Rall all, I am very happy with my new toy.
This is the best bang for my buck to is a watch. R rthe wonder that usability is simplified compared to other Eco-Drive watch. Rthe solid feel, and it looks really good. R rAbout Atomic Time: ri am a strong belief feature clock for SA: r-it works. From the U.S. and Europe (Paris and London tried, found the London receives a rather weak signal) r-manually setting the time on your watch (aka your watch that tells what time it is ) just feels backwards. Rin the age of GPS chips embedded everywhere, I would love to watch to know the local timezone based on GPS location. R rRegarding multi timezone: rFinally! A multi system timezone that is very easy. Even if you are not a world trotter, you can contact the timezone for some work. Ryou get to set some timezones in the right panel button A and B and then swap it in the left panel by pressing A + B simultaneously. That means changing the timezone is as simple as pressing A + B! Other things clearly when you switch timezones, only small hand needs to spin. So by moving the 6 zone takes only a half naman. It used to be a pain in the last Eco-drive where the other hand will make a full rotation for each time difference. RSimple, elegant, not read the user guide bring along. R RDA bezel: rthe outer ring can be used for the calculus of all types of airplane related stuff. That's only good if you fly in front of the seat. I only use it to change money, Which is not too bad. R rtime, Countdown: rall these features served by digital display. I hope this feature as an analog for some reason. And again, my timer usage is limited. R rAlarm: Rnic double alarm. Beware of small AM / PM indicator Which default to PM the first time you use it. R rRegarding Eco-Drive: rThis my third Eco-Drive so far. Kilo experiencing all the bad issues with the watch battery replacement, the very concept of a watch that doesn 't need maintenance just is too big to pass. My first Eco Drive is 4 years old and it works well enough to get me to purchase another two. Automatic watch order numbers 4 and up, you get the feature-albeit without ambiguity-for a fraction of the money. Rone of Echo Drive weakness is the lack of reference (hands wide and loose precision indicates the wrong day for example). Step by step is adjusted to the new models. Am I only can tell over time. Rthe charge level indicator is really sweet Although it may be a source of stress. The next thing you know you 'll always want a full charge! R rsize wise, it 'to some in large part, in any way but doesn ' t look great on my wrist 5.9 inches. It is therefore easy to use buttons at all when wearing it.
Do not let the size scare you, this is a great watch! I bought the stainless version, because of my previous experiance with a Ti watch my own and being repaired is not good. The first thing is the hard, seems overwhelming While it is easy to read, the link GMT is by far one of my favorite features. Second the back light on the digital displays address a common complaint of previous models, personally I like the bright orange LED, keep in mind that it will not light up like timex 's Gold Indiglo Casio ' s EL. Thirdly, and its SOLAR! What else do I have to say. There's a software problem with some of the watches Citizen 's customer service in this respect is one of the best I have found. The case and bracelet finish is excellent, and this is a non-integrated bracelet leave the door open to handle changes, but with this nice of a band that would do? The only problem I have with mine is the design of the bracelet, because of the project closing tune is not closing, changes so small they are controlled by two half links on each side of the clasp. Far had no problems with the decals used in the slide rule, some of the previous sky hawks If these issues with peeling off. Compared to my older sky-hawk that blows you away, dial design / layout is first class, and all analog and digital functions. Also in the evolution of the function of the clock, through the trunk had no problem with that, you have to pull the crown out one notch, so when the stem is seated there is no desire to change the display or damage to the trunk. For the money in the GMT / Multifunction Road Work Pilots watch this is the best in show, and man and get the steel, wearing much lighter than it is.
Don 't Let the failure of others to dissuade you from buying them sight. The only reasons not to buy it if you live outside the range of transmitters atomic clock in Colorado, Japan, and Germany. Comes to set the automatic update, including DST. The only first set-up is required to select a city in your time zone, or optionally to set the GMT time difference for your "It " city (for example, -5 for a city in Eastern Standard Time zone) . Both steps are clearly explained in the user manual. After that, you need not set / reset / change anything. It is always the exact time and it needed a new battery. Functionally, it really IS Ultimate watch.
I took this watch for my uniform BEATER about 6 months, I was on vacation in Aruba. I got a lot cheaper than what 's now, with prices in the states. This list price is well worth it though. I work at a command center 24 hours, and the only time we use are Zulu. One of the main reasons I picked this clock radio is the correction and the role of the UTC. It keeps perfect time and is certainly a beautiful piece. I work with F-16 pilots, and they all love the way it looks, feels and works. 5 stars for me!
This is a beautiful and multifunctional clock. It is also about as easy as operating the Space Shuttle. I am generally very helpful guy, but instructions for this clock as in the old VCR to read. It automatically the time when I first got it as a wedding gift a year ago, but it has not done since. You may not want to manually adjust the time, you can see with others by simply dragging the crown, to do a lengthy procedure. Even the jeweler where I bought it (who owns a similar Eco Drive) took 30 minutes to fix the time after I reset the time for my honeymoon in Mexico. Now they got 't "automatically reset " to summer time, even if it was set to do so. R rNot worth it, don 't buy it.
This is truly a star 4.5 clock instead of a 5, The dissadvantage of this watch is only the rear is very week and very dark in places is almost impossible to see. R rI bought this for my car for a Christmas present early. I searched around and price atomic clocks for some years. When I saw this watch I'm in love with it. I like scuba diving and everything even if I would have liked to have seen if it had been more than 200 meters (500 feet would have been perfect). The clock is proof of what you set something wrong if you can reset the entire clock back to factory settings. The CD that came with it has helped with its creation and adjusting settings. Rthe Steel is heavy, very heavy, when he began to know that you are about. The watch band is great because most tend to grab the hairs on his arms, and when I take the hair off, but not with this. The band does not grab my arm hair is a plus. The watch is solar-powered with a built in rechargeable battery. The clock will run according to the book about 5 months on batteries. R rthe dissadvantage of this watch is only the rear is very week and very dark in places is almost impossible to see. GL R have this watch and Citizen Men 's Eco-Drive Skyhawk AT Watch # JY0005-50E r rthe good of this watch are: rthe band does not grab my arm hair. It's the others that I paid more for that pull the hair out of my arm. Synchronization rAtomic time. It 'nice to be able to watch the clock and not have to wonder if I forgot to reset for daylight savings or not. REverything my work is in Eastern time and I live in Central time, so that will set the analog to digital for Central and Eastern Europe. R rSome the negative are: rthe light on this watch is just brilliant and makes the digital part of the time allocated to see, as well as hands on it the luminescence is not that bright. So watch this in dark areas may be near useless. I've seen better and paid more for worse, but you might think for this watch is about $ 500 that would not have this problem. RI would like to see her more depth Water resistant 200 meters, 500 meters would be great. R rWhat had this watch would be perfect: rBetter backlight. I have a clock that, when you press the button light turns on digital and analog hands as well.
This was my first purchase from Amazon.Com and could not be happier! The site was very easy to use and my purchase arrived in 3-4 days via UPS. Product is superior, UPS has been great love (their monitoring system), and I intend to use Amazon.Com for future purchases!
As a serious watch collector for many years I myself have many different brands of watches, which is of Rolex, Omega, Movado and Seiko, Citizen Skyhawk, this is the best around, I even watch, I wear this particular watch proudly over 80% of the time and I set using this clock with all the other clocks, this is the most reliable I see know, never been a time of need observed adaptation. To see the watch lovers, people like what they bring to bear, and believe me in this way people notice this beautiful clock! Best money I ever spent on a clock!
after reading other reviews, I ask, and does what is advertised.the only drawback is the reading is good lcd.it rwhen has the wrist and let him look, from an angle 45 rdegrees, below which is the usual way that you rhowever, when you look down on it from the other side, say 45 degrees, the LCD completely disappears.I wonder if this is like should be, or if its just my watch ... everything else works fine.
After receiving the box, I was surprised how well the package is wrapped, the risk of accidental damage to prevent. The clock didn 't look as big as the dimensions of issue, in part to the dual tones of the clock and the rejuvenation of the event that cancels a large-sized wrist beautiful. At first look, it's a very busy Clock with tons of complications in the face did, however, when broken down to its individual components, it is really well organized, that allows for easy reading. The materials and workmanship of the clock is very good and can other watches in steel constructed luxury brands rival. There are many functions around the clock and if the manual is not read well by the owner, it may limit what the owner can see from how the settings look too complicated (even for something as simple as setting enjoy). Overall, a very good looking watch, which by their rarity. R RSOM bad points, the clock is the use of mineral glass which is not as resistant to scratches and the convex type of glass scratches encourage them to be prominent at it 's center and the site enlarged. Second, all functions are selected with the crown and if the crown is not durable enough, they can be damaged by excessive wear of varying functions. Third, the chemical phosphors is not so long in the dark. R rPersonally, all the bad points, easily over-shadowed by the other advantages and features of the clock, so I recommend this clock for people who use the E6B computer world and time, or those who simply like watches that are practical difficulties for watches . offer
I spent a good three weeks investigating several watches to replace the automatic that was failing to keep time. I was looking at the gauge line of Citizen watches and Seiko Coutura line, but ultimately decided that the Citizen Skyhawk AT was the only clock that had the three characteristics I wanted: r r battery-free operation r precision atomic clock r-Backlight r other RLIKE, I was a little worried about the size and weight, and tried in the titanium version, which costs $ 150 more, but I thought it was too * * light. He felt like he was using aluminum foil. Stainless steel has a "reassuring, Heft solid " for him, but 's no way too heavy. And the line is continuously attractive lure reviews. Not to mention that the hands and large markers are easy to read against the black dial. It 'sa see very surprising and very sensitive. R rFeature-wise, this watch is jammed-pack, which is quite surprising since 'solar clock: time in 43 cities, countdown timer, stopwatch, perpetual calendar, two alarms, and a receiver atomic clock radio? I was a little worried about not getting enough light, since I work in an office and wear long sleeves, but the strength meter never goes below "full charge. " Very soothing, actually. It was really amazing to get him out of the box when I first arrived, and all needles turn starting to put the clock at the right time. R rthe only problem I 've been with DST function. As I live in Phoenix, Don 't DST (which needs an extra hour of 120 degree heat), and so set the clock in Denver time and crushed the DST. But every night when the watch receives the signal from the atomic clock in Colorado, I awoke an hour later found it really was, as the clock turn back on DST. After pouring the manual, I found I had to turn off daylight saving time for the city is to look and turn it off for updating the atomic signal. To make this second step, you have to set the dial to sub-RX-S, and turn the "SMT " to "Ma " This essentially maintains the atomic clock signal from the update feature DST. R rWith discovered that I actually realized that I greatly enjoy this watch. It's a really complicated watch - probably one of the most difficult I have, but the instructions are very clear. Also, I heard what other critics say about enlightenment only displays the date, but you can take the crown and change the date and time, so if you put it on "time " the backlight display the time in the LCD.So, in general, I keep the clock in the calendar feature, so I know the date. But if I turn on the backlight to see the time I pull out the crown, turn it clockwise one quarter and the time "" selection and press the light button. Sounds like a pain, but not really 't. I think I could do this quickly and easily, even in a darkened movie theater. The trick is to keep the two LCD screens in its time line so that analog and digital LCD display simultaneously. Ras R for the links on the band, I 't recommend trying to remove yourself. I tried using a tack, as suggested by another review, but it seemed that we had to force them out, and felt like I was damaging the pins. So I stopped at a local jeweler who sized my watch for $ 5. R OPR, in conclusion I 've owned many different watches over the years, including a Seiko Kinetic, which I really loved. But this is the first watch that I feel really serve me for many years to come ...
First of all I would say that I absolutely love this clock! There 's little I can say in other reviews too, there ' s everything I hoped it would, and I 'm very happy happy with me. Since I 'm kind of gadget freak this timepiece is perfect for me. R rther is something you should know, however: Some versions of this clock has a software bug so that they also display the date wrong from 2010th Citizen is aware of this problem and is free to program the clock again, but the bad news is that you need to send it to their repair center. Whether your clock will be affected depends on the serial number on the back is a call from Citizen (800-321-1023 in the U.S.) will assess whether you are selling in. R RSO, knowing they need to send why I still give this review five stars? Well, that's awesome-the-clock, and the fact that citizens are actively dealing with the problem is very impressive. I place two calls to the number before today, and they were very polite, efficient and helpful. Kudos to this company for excellent customer service and outstanding products.
See the grid, but verry hard to configure. RMust follow the instructions on the CD that comes with the package rwatch . Enjoy.
I received this watch as a gift and I 'm very pleased. If you 're as I am, like clockwork resistant, then this watch is a great buy. Citizen finally offers a backlight on the digital display. I own the Citizen Blue Angel edition of the earlier version of this watch and I was very happy with it, except for the lack of a backlight. Now, finally back lit clock that atomically sets the time automatically. The watch is a little heavy, but otherwise its among the best watches I 've owned. Besides being water resistant to 200 meters, luminous hands remain for a longer period of time after it 's exposed to light. The watch looks more expensive than it really is and I recommend this watch for people who do not mind the heavier than usual also notice that never needs a battery and adjusts the time automatically 3 times a day.
I just watch from this [...] few days back and I loved it. It has many great features such as synchronous time could use radio waves and so on. I live in Seattle, WA and I got a good reception signal which I believe is transmitted from one place in Colorado. R rThis watch is water resitant upto 200 meters so I don 't have to worry about it getting wet in the rain usual:) on top of all that just looks and feels great:) really worth the money. Some people may find the watch a little bigger and heavier, but then I have a wide wrist / forearm and looked great.
